TLC’s Office of Facilities and Fleet Management oversees the purchase, use, maintenance and management of TLC vehicles and related services. OFFM also monitors compliance with NYC Fleet and Vision Zero mandates, fuel and E-ZPass rules, parking and traffic regulations, and driver safety initiatives. The OFFM team provides complete life cycle management (design / build, distribution / maintenance, and relinquishment) of over 100 vehicles; the majority of which are used for enforcement operations to enure all vehicles operating for-hire follow TLC rules and regulations.
TLC seeks a fleet supervisor to oversee all aspects of its fleet operations to ensure the highest level of availability. The Fleet Supervisor is responsible for maintaining equipment, systems, and capabilities. The selected candidate will supervise a group of motor vehicle operators that support day to day motor vehicle operations. Additionally, they will be responsible for initiating requisitions, ensuring the receiving and maintaining the status of automotive servicing equipment, tolls passes and other fleet related material.
Duties include but not limited to:
- Inspect vehicles in service to determine the extent of need for repairs; inspect repair work and monitor all warranty agreements.
- Inspects automotive parts, supplies, and repairs to ensure adherence to purchase or contract specifications, terms, conditions, and related regulations.
Recommend acceptance, rejection or conditional acceptance of deliveries of vehicles and automotive parts and supplies.
- Administers appropriate programs related to inspection, safety and safe driving, and proper vehicle and materials handling.
- Investigates motor vehicle accidents and accidents to personnel, preparing accident reports and follow up documentation related to maintenance and mechanical issue response.
- Responsible to research and design specifications for new equipment and process paperwork throughout the entire procurement process.
- Maintains all motor transport vehicles and equipment to include overseeing contractors and vendors performing services on vehicles and equipment.
- Prepare monthly fleet analysis and reporting including but not limited to usage, availability, accidents, fuel usage/electric consumption
- May operate a motor vehicle in performance of duties.
1. One year of permanent service in the title of Motor Vehicle Operator; or
2. One year of full-time satisfactory experience as a motor vehicle dispatcher or manager of an automotive service garage.
License Requirement
A Motor Vehicle Driver License valid in the State of New York.
To be eligible for placement in Assignment Level II, individuals must have, after meeting the minimum requirements described above for Assignment Level I, at least:
a) one year in the title of Motor Vehicle Supervisor; or
b) one additional year of the full-time experience described in “2” above in a large automotive service garage.
2- 3 years of automotive experience that entails the following: 1) Preventive Maintenance Scheduling 2) Preventive Maintenance & Collision Statistics 3) Reporting & Analyzing Vehicle Utilization & Collision Statistics 4) Dispatch Experience 5) Proficiency in Microsoft Office Programs 6) Experience supervising Motor Vehicle Operators. 7) Availability to work a flexible schedule
