Fleet is seeking to hire a Fleet Services Coordinator for the DCAS Client Fleet Services program. DCAS services over 40 agencies and offices for repairs, towing, collisions, and related services. Nearly 4,000 vehicles are included in the Client Services program including approximately 900 NYCHA units that are part of a successful consolidation which was extended for 5 years earlier in 2023.
This position will help organize and coordinate client service contract repairs and ensure effective costs and work quality. The role will deal with all agencies and vendors within the Holman network, which is more than 100 vendors. The Fleet Services Coordinator will address towing, emergency breakdowns, and other service emergencies and will oversee special installations including lights and sirens, side-guards, safety retrofit systems such as intelligent speed assist, and related service and emergency projects. This role may assist with EV charger maintenance coordination and/or Geotab installs, assisting the fleet field services unit. The coordinator will help manage state and preventive maintenance inspections and recalls. The Client Services unit is a regular production area of DCAS fleet, addressing service issues constantly each day and also on weekends.
As a Fleet Services Coordinator, the prospective candidate will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following tasks:
- Work with agencies and vendors to coordinate, organize and complete fleet service repairs, tows, crash repairs, and vehicle upfits. Resolve customer/client issues.
- Update the vendor and DCAS Fleet Focus systems with fleet repair information.
- Respond to service and general emergency situations including weekend breakdowns and tow and fueling issues and NYCEM tow task force requirements.
- Manage state and preventive inspections and recalls.
- Assist DCAS fleet field services team with EVSE maintenance, telematics installs, and related work.
- Coordinate installation of truck side-guards, intelligent speed assist (ISA) and other safety retrofit devices on City vehicles and contracted trucks in accordance with local law and Vision Zero policy.
- Support general division and agency projects and initiatives and perform related work.
1. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and two years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to the duties described above; or
2. High school graduation or equivalent and six years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to the duties as described above; or
3. Education and/or experience which is equivalent to "1" or "2" above. However, all candidates must have at least one year of experience as described in "1" above.
