The NYC Department of Design and Construction (DDC), Operations Division seeks a motivated individual to serve as a Fleet Assistant. The selected candidate will be responsible for charging and troubleshooting the ChargePoint System for our Electric Fleet and assist with preventative maintenance and reporting. Track all repairs and oversees electric vehicles. He/she will work with the other Fleet Assistant(s) on the agency’s biannual inspection of DDC Fleet vehicles. Assist in providing daily vehicle ranges to the Fleet team to ensure efficiency when issuing pool vehicles to employees visiting capital projects as needed for oversight and inspections. The selected candidate will assist in preparing salvage vehicle documentation and coordinate with Department of Citywide Administrative Services (DCAS) Fleet to complete the salvage process which includes readying the vehicle for public auction. He/She will assign pool vehicles and car wash vouchers to field staff who visits sites, community events, and meetings. The candidate will assist with permits by removing and affixing the appropriate permit to the windshield of all our agency fleet. Additional duties include, distributing MetroCard’s to employees for field visits and ensuring all information is properly recorded. Preparing documentation for the registration of agency vehicles, assisting with EZ Pass tracking and potential infractions, restocking Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) in all fleet pool vehicles as necessary and drop off / pick up fleet pool vehicles to and from the repair shops for maintenance and repairs as necessary. Issuing monthly reports and attending DCAS automobile shows, and other DCAS fleet related activities as needed. All these tasks are necessary to maintain a fleet of vehicles that support DDC Staff at field and site locations.

2. Candidates must be able to understand and be understood in English.
Candidates should be well versed in technical applications Microsoft (Word, Outlook, Teams, Excel, PowerPoint). Also, soft skills such as communication, proven teamwork, emotional intelligence, problem-solving, critical thinking, adaptability, time management and the ability to handle confidential matters with discretion are highly desired. A Valid NYS Driver’s license is a must.
