The Department of Design & Construction, Operations Division seeks a highly motivated individual to serve as a Fleet Assistant/ Driver. The Fleet Assistant/ Driver will oversee the agency’s biannual inspection of DDC Fleet vehicles. They will be responsible for charging and troubleshooting the ChargePoint system for our electric fleet; preparing paperwork for the registration of agency vehicles, assist with EZ Pass tracking and potential infractions, as well as issue monthly reports. Attend DCAS automobile shows, and other DCAS Fleet related activities as needed. Prepare salvage vehicle paperwork and work with DCAS Fleet to complete the salvage transaction(s), assign pool vehicles, assist in tracking agency vehicles via GeoTab to regularly monitor alerts and assist with issuing monthly reports. Assists with agency vehicle preventative maintenance, tracks all repairs, oversees electric vehicles. Provide daily vehicle ranges to the Fleet team to ensure efficiency when issuing pool vehicles. Assist with Permit season by removing and affixing the appropriate permit to the windshield to all our agency Fleet. Place and restock PPE equipment in all Fleet pool vehicles as necessary. Responsible for dropping off and picking up the Fleet pool vehicles to and from the local repair shops for maintenance and repairs as necessary. Responsible for the upkeep of the Senior Division Head vehicles as necessary. The selected candidate will also assist in helping to facilitate DDC Community Programs/ events such as Ribbon Cuttings and Outreach events. The selected candidate will also assist with other agency needs such as the pickup of checks and warehouse supplies. Must have a valid NYS driver’s license.
Qualification Requirements
1. High school graduation or equivalent and three years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to duties described above; or
2. Education and/or experience which is equivalent to "1" above.
Candidate must demonstrate interpersonal, diplomacy, discretion, reliability, and organizational skills. Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including but not limited to Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Can handle confidential and sensitive matters with discretion. Must possess a valid NYS Driver’s license and be familiar with driving in the five boroughs of New York City. This position may require overtime.
