The Department of Social Services (DSS) is comprised of the administrative units of the New York City Human Resources Administration (HRA) and the Department of Homeless Services (DHS). HRA is dedicated to fighting poverty and income inequality by providing New Yorkers in need with essential benefits such as Food Assistance and Emergency Rental Assistance. Human Resources Solutions (HRS) supports the human resources needs of the Department of Social Services, the Human Resources Administration, and the Department of Homeless Services through strategic partnership and collaboration, with the goal of creating an inclusive, motivated, and client centered workforce.
Human Resources Solutions (HRS)/ is recruiting for one (1) Clerical Associate III to function as a Fingerprinting, Photo ID and Unit Support Staff, who will:
- Assist supervisor in assigning candidate/agency staff processing appointments for new hires, assignment to hire level, promotions, etc. considering time off schedules of processors, and predetermined onboarding deadlines.
- Complete and email Form M-731 (Notification of Employee Action) or managerial letters for new hires, promotions, transfers, demotions, and all other personnel actions.
- Assign new hires to the new hire organizational node in City Time to ensure timely supervisory and schedule assignments.
- Schedule, prepare and distribute new and replacement photo identification cards for current employees, new hire candidates, temporary workers and consultants.
- Fingerprint all newly hired staff using the digital fingerprinting system.
- Track and prepare documents requesting fingerprinting checks, and State Clearance Registry background checks (SCR) from HRA’s Finance Department for candidates for whose fees are waived.
- Assist candidates logging on to the E-Hire system either in person or by phone, to facilitate their use of NYCAPS to complete the electronic application before their processing appointment.
- Prepare and send not qualified or not selected letters to candidates notifying them of the results of their processing interview.
- Request and follow-up on the status of an employee’s TPF (travelling personnel folder) and requests the transfer of time and leave, to ensure that these documents are part of the newly transferred worker’s permanent records.
- Prepare candidate folders for submission to the micrographics unit for inclusion into HRA One Viewer.
Qualification Requirements
A four-year high school diploma or its educational equivalent approved by a State's department of education or a recognized accrediting organization and one year of satisfactory clerical experience.
Skills Requirement
Keyboard familiarity with the ability to type at a minimum of 100 key strokes (20 words) per minute.
