Parking Facilities, and Capital Projects Group manages the operation and maintenance of DOT’s 30 municipal off-street parking fields and 7 multi-level municipal parking garages. The qualified candidates will work collaboratively to develop and maintain new and existing parking facilities, as well as to conduct inspection to ensure the continued operation of municipal parking facilities. The candidates will design parking field layouts, prepare drawings on AutoCAD, create plans for the installation of traffic devices and signage, provide engineering cost estimates, review, and update contract specification, and prepare other project deliverables in accordance with guidelines and standards. The candidates will perform many types of structural and general inspections, conduct surveys, write detailed reports, monitor the structural condition of garage structures, attend meeting with contractors, and ensure contract compliance and public safety. It also calls for the candidates to review proposals, design plans, and construction documents for various parking garage projects. In addition, the candidates will assist in the expansion and maintenance of electric vehicle charging stations in municipal parking facilities by reviewing proposals and/or plans for EV charging stations installation and monitoring the operation of EV chargers across the facilities. Those candidates interested in this position will be asked to work collaboratively, to continue professional development, and to effectively communicate through verbal and written forms with all stakeholders.


Preference will be given to candidate who possess a motor Vehicle driver’s license valid in the state of New York. If required for certain positions, this license must be maintained for duration of
appointment.

Hours/Shift: 35 Hrs. /M-F/ 8am-4pm


This position may be eligible for remote work up to 2 days per week, pursuant to the Remote Work Pilot Program agreed to between the City and DC37.

Minimum Qualifications

1. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college in civil engineering and one year of full-time satisfactory experience in civil engineering work; or

2. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and a Master's degree from an accredited college in civil engineering.
