Job Description

The New York City Department of Youth and Community Development (DYCD) invests in a network of community-based organizations and programs to alleviate the effects of poverty and to provide opportunities for New Yorkers and communities to flourish.

DYCD is seeking a Facilities Coordinator to perform the below task/responsibilities :

-Assist Facilities in the coverage of multiple locations via tracking requests submitted in the
ServiceNow Portal system; including but not limited to rectifying facilities related issues,
troubleshooting copiers/other office machinery, and arranging table/chair set up in Agency meeting
spaces.

-Serve as backup to mailroom staff by picking up and delivering mail to 2 Lafayette Street, 123 William
Street, and other locations.

-Assist in loading/unloading of vehicle by hand. Moving small items, packages, assisting loaders
transporters, and related equipment to speed process/increase safety.

-Schedule requests for use of a city vehicle from staff in a timely manner using Service Now.

-Perform routine safety checks of motor vehicle equipment and ensures vehicles are operational
before driving.

-Responsible for the scheduling and maintenance of all the vehicles including inspections.

-Investigate complaints as to vehicle operation and performance and maintain any necessary cost and
control records either as to vehicles and equipment or to goods and materials in the matter of their
transport.

-Initiate requisitions for needed automotive supplies, automotive servicing equipment, and work orders
for the performance of major automotive repairs by City repair shops units or by outside contractors.
Report all information to the AC of Administrative Services.

-Investigates all motor vehicle accidents and accidents to personnel, preparing required reports.

-Responsible for recording and processing of all violations. Report all accidents and violations to the
AC of Administrative Services.

-Schedule Defensive Driving courses through DCAS for staff as needed.

-Submit to DOT’s ePermits systems the request for agency vehicle permits annually.

-Maintain the proper records of all the above.

-Operate various types of vehicles and transports the Agency Commissioner and Senior Staff to
scheduled meetings and events. Operates vehicles safely and efficiently. Adheres to schedule when
operating vehicle. Ensure that all traffic laws are fully observed.

-Serves as agency Commissioner’s back up driver

-May be required to modified work schedule which includes nights, weekends and holidays.

-Perform other related duties as required

Minimum Qualifications

1. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and two years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to the duties described above; or
2. High school graduation or equivalent and six years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to the duties as described above; or
3. Education and/or experience which is equivalent to "1" or "2" above. However, all candidates must have at least one year of experience as described in "1" above.


Preferred Skills

-Must have a motor vehicle driver license valid in the State of New York. If you have moving violations, license suspension(s) or an accident record, you may be disqualified from consideration. Your license must be maintained for the duration of your employment. -Proficient in Microsoft Office -Candidate must be able to lift 75lbs.

Residency Requirement

New York City residency is generally required within 90 days of appointment. However, City Employees in certain titles who have worked for the City for 2 continuous years may also be eligible to reside in Nassau, Suffolk, Putnam, Westchester, Rockland, or Orange County. To determine if the residency requirement applies to you, please discuss with the agency representative at the time of interview.
