The Team You’ll Work With:
The Mayor's Office of Mass Engagement is the fundamental connection between City Hall and New York City residents throughout the five boroughs. The primary mission is to establish deep partnerships with communities in order to actively engage New Yorkers in City government. To this end, directly responsible for integrating government into communities by working with Mayoral agencies to ensure the effective and efficient deployment of government services and the Mayor’s top policy priorities and initiatives.
The Problems You’ll Solve:
The Executive Director of Organizing responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Managing the borough based organizing team.
- Building out a team that can hold relationships with New Yorkers at many levels. The team will hold
community and faith leader relationships while also building relationships with broad groups of New
Yorkers who are interested in volunteering with government.
- Working with the OME front office, the FDC and the co-governance team to build strategy around
how to open up government and mass campaign initiatives to thousands of NYers.
- Working with the FDC and the OME emergency team to make sure that organizing staff are available
in their regions for any emergencies where they can be connected to local community.
- Building out a long-term strategy to maintaining and grow a robust organizing structure in OME.
- Other duties as required.
EXECUTIVE PROGRAM SPECIALIST - 06854
A Baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university and three years fulltime satisfactory professional experience related to the projects and policies to be studied in the particular position including eighteen months of experience in a managerial, consultative, administrative or supervisory capacity.
