The Office of Crime Control Strategies analyzes and monitors trends across the city and develops strategies targeted to reducing crime, ensuring that these strategies are applied across all units of the NYPD. Data collection, analysis, and technology track existing trends and conditions and develop efficient and effective strategies to suppress crime.
Policy Development, Special Projects & Operations, Office of the Chief of Crime Control Strategies:
Utilize knowledge of Penal Law, Criminal Procedure Law and technological infrastructure in exploring both internal and external policy recommendations for crime suppression, information management strategy and public safety.
Provide oversight and quality control with respect to CompStat cases, special projects and crime suppression operations.
Designated Executive Lead, Information Management for Discovery Compliance
Responsible for the oversight for design and implementation of Department-wide information management strategy
Coordinate with all bureaus and external stakeholders, including local prosecutors, city agencies, vendors and/or contractors ensuring accuracy and completeness of discovery and information management matters regarding creation, retention, search and production of information
Responsible for project management and Department-wide efforts in streamlining case management, standardizing workflows, and building automated systems in order to maximize organizational efficiency
Discovery Personnel Oversight
Liaise directly with District Attorney Offices to facilitate compliance in accordance with criminal procedure laws
Oversee discovery personnel, provide oversight and mitigate complex discovery issues.
Identify citywide gaps and challenges in discovery

ASSISTANT COMMISSIONER (PROGRA - 12927
1. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and five (5) years of full-time paid experience in a governmental agency, large business or firm engaged in policy analysis, operations research, law or related work; two (2) years of which must have been in a supervisory or administrative capacity, or
2. Education and/or experience equivalent to "1" above. However, all candidates must possess at least three years of experience as described above, two (2) years of which must have been in a supervisory or administrative capacity.
Knowledge of Criminal Procedure Law and criminal discovery compliance. Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to maintain relationships.
