The Fire Department of the City of New York (FDNY) is the largest Fire Department in the United States and universally is recognized as the world's busiest and most highly skilled emergency response agency. The Fire Department, City of New York, seeks a full-time ETL/Data warehouse Developer in the Bureau of Technology and Development Systems. Reporting directly to the Data Warehouse Manager, the successful candidate will:
-Understanding existing ETL Workflows. Modifying/re-architect ETL workflows.
-Develop and maintain Oracle PL/SQL packages and scripts to maintain daily operation of data loading from servers and ETL process.
-Develop and maintain reports and daily data feeds to other city agencies.
-Monitor and maintain real-time and overnight data processing schedules.
-Develop data models and ER diagrams for existing and new databases.
-Design, develop, implement, and continuously expand data pipelines by performing extraction, transformation, and loading activities.
-Intake new data project requirements and develop data processing packages to support end-users and downstream applications.
-Work with the business users and internal teams in designing and delivering correct, high-quality data.
-Provide technical support and production support to all the data warehouse projects.
-Provide daily support to internal partners and external agencies.

NOTE: This position may be eligible for remote work up to 2 days per weeks, pursuant to the Remote Work Pilot Program
agreed between the City and DC37.

(1) A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college, including or supplemented by twenty-four (24) semester credits in computer science or a related computer field and two (2) years of satisfactory full-time software experience in designing, programming, debugging, maintaining, implementing, and enhancing computer software applications, systems programming, systems analysis and design, data communication software, or database design and programming, including one year in a project leader capacity or as a major contributor on a complex project; or
(2) A four-year high school diploma or its educational equivalent and six (6) years of full-time satisfactory software experience as described in “1" above, including one year in a project leader capacity or as a major contributor on a complex project; or
(3) A satisfactory combination of education and experience that is equivalent to (1) or (2) above. College education may be substituted for up to two years of the required experience in (2) above on the basis that sixty (60) semester credits from an accredited college is equated to one year of experience. A masters degree in computer science or a related computer field may be substituted for one year of the required experience in (1) or (2) above. However, all candidates must have a four year high school diploma or its educational equivalent, plus at least one (1) year of satisfactory full-time software experience in a project leader capacity or as a major contributor on a complex project.
NOTE: In order to have your experience accepted as Project Leader or Major Contributor experience, you must explain in detail how your experience qualifies you as a project leader or as a major contributor. Experience in computer operations, technical support, quality assurance (QA), hardware installation, help desk, or as an end user will not be accepted for meeting the minimum qualification
requirements.
Special Note
To be eligible for placement in Assignment Level IV, in addition to the Qualification Requirements stated above, individuals must have one year of satisfactory experience in a project leader capacity or as a major contributor on a complex project in data administration, database management systems, operating systems, data communications systems, capacity planning, and/or on-line applications programming.

-At least 4 years of experience as ETL Developer. -Extensive experience in Oracle 11g, 12c, 19 and PL/SQL development. -Oracle database full life cycle development including data modeling, database architecture, SQL and PL/SQL development, unit testing and support. -Expertise in PL/SQL Programming including Data Types, Cursors, Exception Handling Collections, Merge statements, Analytics Functions, Views, Materialized Views, Table Functions, Stored procedures, Functions and Packages, database triggers, mutating, Dynamic SQLs, External Tables, Performance Tuning, Object Programming, built in functions, joins, aggregate functions, Collections. -Optimize and tune SQL queries to maximize speed and scale. -Extensive experience with Linux systems and shell scripting. -Knowledge of testing tools and techniques. -Passionate about complex data structures and problem solving. -Ability to translate existing PL/SQL and cron jobs into Oracle Data Integrator supported jobs and Informatica Cloud. -Ability to pick up new data tools and concepts quickly. -Knowledge of ETL tool (Informatica) is a big plus. -Knowledge of ORDS is a plus. -Knowledge of version control (Github) -Strong written, verbal and interpersonal skills.
