Job Description
THE SELECTED CANDIDATE WILL BE OFFERED A SALARY BETWEEN $118,000.00-$128,000.00
The Administration for Children’s Services (ACS) protects and promotes the safety and well-being of children and families through child welfare and juvenile justice services and community supports. ACS manages community-based supports and foster care services, and provides subsidized child care vouchers. ACS child protection staff respond to allegations of child maltreatment. In juvenile justice, ACS oversees detention, placement and programs for youth in the community.
The New York City Administration for Children’s Services of Office of Information Technology (OIT) department has the responsibility to provide high quality, reliable, sustainable technology services, and support to meet the needs of the families and children we serve through ACS and its vendor partners and other city agencies. The Center for Technology Ideation and Management (CFTIM) unit devises the IT strategy and roadmap, bringing to fruition transformative and innovative technology solutions that are aligned with the Agency's missions. This is accomplished through four key areas Relationship Management, Technology Ideation, Enterprise Architecture, and Project Management. The Enterprise Architect plays a pivotal role in creating and implementing roadmaps and key IT strategic initiative to enhance the agency's operations.
The selected candidate will be responsible for performing the following duties but not limited to:
- Develop architecture roadmaps
- Analyze current IT systems, processes, and services to identify areas for improvement
- Design and implement solutions that meet business needs and align with the overall architecture strategy
- Create architectural blueprints that outline the structure, components, and relationships between business processes, data, applications, and technology infrastructure
- Communicate complex technical concepts effectively to stakeholders, technical and non-technical audiences
- Evaluate and recommend new technologies and solutions to enhance the organization capabilities
- Establish and enforce IT governance policies and procedures
- Monitor the performance of the IT infrastructure and identify areas for improvement, efficiency and security

SENIOR IT ARCHITECT - 95711
1. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college in computer science, information systems, engineering, mathematics or related field and six years of satisfactory full-time experience related to enterprise architecture, solutions architecture, network architecture and/or IT infrastructure systems; or
2. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and ten years of satisfactory full-time experience related to enterprise architecture, solutions architecture, network architecture and/or IT infrastructure systems; or
3. Education and/or experience which is equivalent to "1" or "2" above.
The preferred candidate should possess the following: - Technical expertise in areas such as software engineering, network architecture, database design, cloud, and data architecture - Experience working in government or public sector organizations - Knowledge of automation technologies, artificial intelligence, and machine learning is a plus - Strong understanding of emerging technologies and their potential applications - Experience identifying and recommending People Process, Business and Technology solutions to address business challenges - Excellent communication and presentation skills
