The New York City Department of Youth and Community Development (DYCD) invests in a network of community-based organizations and programs to alleviate the effects of poverty and to provide opportunities for New Yorkers and communities to flourish.
- The Engagement Specialist must have strong communication skills, both written and oral, to communicate effectively with recipients.
- Facilitate communication and collaboration between units within the agency, management and calling recipients.
- Provide consumer support and expedite the resolution of students/parents’ concerns or issues to maximize satisfaction.
- Have an ability to adapt to changing needs and priorities and be flexible and open to new ideas and training.
- Must be willing to learn Service Now software to generate tickets for each call and email received.
1. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and two years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to the duties described above; or
2. High school graduation or equivalent and six years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to the duties as described above; or
3. Education and/or experience which is equivalent to "1" or "2" above. However, all candidates must have at least one year of experience as described in "1" above.
- Must have the ability to listen to the concerns of the recipients and be able to succinctly address their needs via returned calls or emails. - Strong communication skills to clearly convey the benefits of the programs we offer in a professional manner. - Must have the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. - Ability to prioritize time management and organizational skills. - Must Work well with others.
