The Administration for Children’s Services (ACS) protects and promotes the safety and well-being of children and families through child welfare and juvenile justice services and community supports. ACS manages community-based supports and foster care services and provides subsidized childcare vouchers. ACS child protection staff respond to allegations of child maltreatment. In juvenile justice, ACS oversees detention, placement and programs for youth in the community.
The Division of External Affairs works with both internal and external stakeholders to ensure that the agency speaks with one, consistent voice regarding the priorities of ACS and also promotes and supports all ACS divisions with their programs and initiatives. The division includes the Offices of Communications and Marketing, Advocacy, Intergovernmental Affairs, Interagency Affairs, and the Immigrant Services and Language Affairs unit.
The Office of Interagency Affairs seeks to strategically partner and collaborate with other city agencies to make our work with families more seamless. The Office is critical to maintaining and strengthening existing collaborations, while strategically creating new partnerships and initiatives that strengthen ACS' mission.

Reporting to the Director of Interagency Affairs, the Deputy Director's duties and responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Support and strengthen existing and new interagency initiatives by providing project management, administrative support, and project planning assistance where needed
- Monitor interagency collaborations, record progress and prepare reports, memos, lists and presentations for a variety of audiences
- Maintain list of key interagency collaborations
- Assist with the planning and facilitation of the quarterly interagency meeting
- Compile interagency highlights to be shared monthly with key ACS staff
- Partner with staff across ACS to bring awareness to interagency work and best practices
- Attend meetings, serve as ACS representative in various in person and virtual meetings and events
- Support Division of External Affairs activities and events as needed
- Respond to requests and inquiries from various agencies, providing high level of customer service, as needed

COMMUNITY COORDINATOR - 56058
1. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and two years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to the duties described above; or
2. High school graduation or equivalent and six years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to the duties as described above; or
3. Education and/or experience which is equivalent to "1" or "2" above. However, all candidates must have at least one year of experience as described in "1" above.
The preferred candidate will possess the following skills: - A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and three years of full-time satisfactory professional experience in one or more of the following fields: communications, public affairs, health and human services, or related field, at least 18 months of which must have been in an administrative or project management capacity. - Previous experience managing strategic partnerships within child welfare, government, health or social services field is a plus. - Excellent analytical, writing, presentation, communication and client service skills are a plus. - MS Office Suite including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and other tools such as air table or similar are a plus.
