Major Responsibilities
- Under the direction of the Chief Marketing and Development Officer, with considerable latitude for independent initiative and judgment, manage the coordination and implementation of Agency development operations and programs.
- Lead a development team and ensure their work is aligned with the priorities of the division and Agency.
- Lead the annual multi-million dollar Adopt-A-Park campaign, working with external organizations and numerous Parks divisions.
- Oversee the Adopt-a-Bench program, film shoot donations and grants.
- In collaboration with the Chief, oversee program sponsorships that align with community needs and Agency goals, including youth sports leagues, wellness programs and environmental stewardship activities.
- Overhaul the team’s operations and implement standard operating procedures and best practices to increase department efficiency and project capacity.
- Support the Chief and other executive leaders in developing effective practices and policies to determine strategic development initiatives and ensure their success.
- Evaluate effectiveness of fundraising and development strategies on an ongoing basis and set new goals each year.
- Spearhead the development of a Customer-Relationship-Management database.
- Plan and execute the annual Partner Appreciation Event, ribbon cuttings, ground breakings and other funder-related activities to support Agency development initiatives.

1. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and two years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to the duties described above; or
2. High school graduation or equivalent and six years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to the duties as described above; or
3. Education and/or experience which is equivalent to "1" or "2" above. However, all candidates must have at least one year of experience as described in "1" above.
1. Bachelor’s Degree. 2. Four or more years of experience in corporate partnerships with a proven track record of success. 3. Four or more years of experience in nonprofit management or fundraising with a proven track record of success. 4. Experience in creating and executing effective marketing campaigns. 5. Exceptional writing skills to create new marketing ideas, materials, pitches and proposals. 6. Excellent writing, communication, and organizational skills. 7. Ability to work independently and initiate projects. 8. Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment. 9. Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced work environment and meet deadlines. 10. Proficiency in computer software including Outlook, Microsoft Word, Excel, and Access. 11. Valid New York State driver license.
