The Director of Constituent Services will report to the Deputy Chief of Staff. We are seeking a candidate willing to be part of a collaborative, energetic and innovative team. The prospective staff member must be committed to seeking out new and better ways for the office to connect with, and deliver for, Queens’s diverse neighborhoods, communities and constituents. The Director of Constituent Services will represent the Borough President’s office in handling and supervising constituent service matters for the office.

May be required to work nights and weekends.

Preferred Skills

Preferred Skills Bachelor’s degree required At least four years of public service experience strongly preferred, i.e., case management, community organizing, campaign, government, social policy or nonprofit work experience Interest in social policy and familiarity with the issues facing Queens neighborhoods. Strong organizational skills including the ability to prioritize, meet deadlines and maintain consistent attention to details Candidate must possess good analytical, problem solving and computer skills Highly energetic Outstanding communication, interpersonal and organizational skills Excellent written and public speaking abilities Flexibility with regard to work hours Ability to work well under pressure and Capable of multitasking in a team oriented environment. Minimum Qualifications 1.A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and two years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to the duties described above or 2. High school graduation or equivalent and six years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to the duties as described above or 3. Education and/or experience which is equivalent to "1" or "2" above. However, all candidates must have at least one year of experience as described in "1" above.

Residency Requirement

New York City residency is generally required within 90 days of appointment. However, City Employees in certain titles who have worked for the City for 2 continuous years may also be eligible to reside in Nassau, Suffolk, Putnam, Westchester, Rockland, or Orange County. To determine if the residency requirement applies to you, please discuss with the agency representative at the time of interview.
