Job Description
This position will oversee the Budget and Fiscal Departments to execute several responsibilities of the Office of the Queens Borough President.
Duties include:
- Executing discretionary funding contracts, including working with funding recipients to ensure completeness of all applications and contract requirements
- Reviewing organization’s applications and working with city agencies to determine eligibility of capital funding requests
- Working directly with the Borough President and Chief of Staff to designate awards
- Analyzing in detail the New York City Preliminary, Executive, and Adopted Budget
- Overseeing all interoffice fiscal operations of the agency while adhering to Comptroller’s Directives and Procurement Procedure Board Rules
SPECIAL ASSISTANT TO THE BOROU - 13151
1. Six (6) years of full-time, progressively responsible experience in governmental agency, business or recognized charitable or civic organization, in such fields as investigation, transportation, planning and policy, public relations, housing, human rights, health and human services, economic and job development, education and community activities, including at least (18) months of managerial or administrative experience?
2. A satisfactory combination of education and/or experience equivalent to that described in question "1" above, including at least (18) months of managerial or administrative experience, where undergraduate education may be substituted for the general (non-supervisory) experience at a rate of one (1) year of college for six (6) months of experience, up to a maximum of two (2) years of experience, or where a masters degree in public administration or related areas will be substituted, on a year-for-year basis, up to a maximum of two (2) years of experience.
