The Communications Team supports the work of the Comptroller’s office to secure a thriving future for all New Yorkers by disseminating information, highlighting key initiatives, and advancing the conversation on key policy objectives. The Team provides the public-facing voice of the office, working with the press to share information, using digital tools to communicate directly with New Yorkers, and creating communications products to explain the work of the office.
We are currently seeking a Digital Producer to lead the creation of multimedia visual content for the Comptroller’s government social media channels. This position will be responsible for producing vertical videos and managing social media to drive transparency and engagement online.
Under the direction of the Digital Director, the Digital Producer’s responsibilities will include the following:
- Lead production of all social media creative including editing video, photos, and graphics using Adobe Suite products;
- Lead photography and video at events with the Comptroller;
- Ideate and produce social media videos from shooting through post-launch;
- Report regularly on social media analytics to improve performance;
- Work collaboratively across the Communications Team and other departments to produce timely and on-message content;
- Write and post digital copy as needed;
- Use deep awareness and understanding of social media trends to pitch, shoot, and edit creative ideas; and,
- Perform other related assignments and special projects as may be required.
1. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and two years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to the duties described above; or
2. High school graduation or equivalent and six years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to the duties as described above; or
3. Education and/or experience which is equivalent to "1" or "2" above. However, all candidates must have at least one year of experience as described in "1" above.
- Strong social media proficiency across TikTok, Instagram, Twitter, YouTube, and Snapchat - Deep understanding of vertical video style editing and curation - Able to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-based, ever-changing environment while remaining organized and detail-oriented - Bi-lingual / Spanish proficiency a plus - Demonstrated passion about New York City and fiscal accountability.
