The division of Roadway Repair and Maintenance (RRM) is seeking a candidate for the position of Deputy Director to support leadership in the division’s Resource Management Unit. RRM is comprised of approximately 1,400 employees and is responsible for resurfacing and maintaining NYC’s streets and arterial highways. The Resource Management unit oversees RRM’s $266 million capital budget, $190 million expense budget, the City’s largest Inter Fund Agreement (IFA) program, and reports on a variety of the division’s operational statistics and critical indicators. The unit is comprised of a team of analysts responsible for coordinating with RRM’s administrative and operational units to ensure the division’s priorities are adequately funded. The Deputy Director will report directly to the Director of Resource Management and is responsible for development and tracking of capital and expense budgets for the division. The Deputy Director will support the Director’s supervision of staff and ensure the divisions priorities are adequately funded. The Deputy Director works closely with RRM Administration and field offices, and coordinates with DOT ACCO, Budget, and Policy offices, as well as with partners outside the agency such as OMB, DCAS and others to manage critical initiatives, analyses, budget submissions, IFA voucher and grants reimbursements. The position is responsible for management, development, funding, and procurement of contracts essential to the operations of the division. The unit is assigned a variety of ad-hoc and special projects that require cost-benefit, quantitative, statistical, and economic analysis. The Deputy Director is expected to support the Director in execution of daily responsibilities, special project assignments, and provide recommendations and advice on policies, initiatives, and strategies to Executive Management within the division.

Hours: 35 Hours Per Week
1. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and four years of full-time satisfactory professional experience in purchasing, procurement, contract administration or a related field, at least eighteen months of which must have been in an administrative, managerial or executive capacity or supervising professional personnel performing duties in one or more of the above fields; or
2. A combination of education and/or experience equivalent to "1" above. However, all candidates must have the eighteen months of administrative, managerial, executive or supervisory experience described in "1" above.
Possession of an acceptable professional procurement certification may be substituted for up to one year of the experience described in "1" above. However, all candidates must have the eighteen months of administrative, managerial, executive or supervisory experience described in""1" above.
