The Office of the Bronx District Attorney is seeking a well-qualified staff whose diverse backgrounds reflect an ability to relate to the over 1.3 million members of the Bronx County community. Under the direction of the Executive District Attorney Chief of Operations, the Deputy Director of Operations will be responsible for project management and coordination of work involving varying degrees of difficulty and responsibility to maintain the day-to-day management of facilities and grounds of the Office. The Deputy Director will plan and coordinate work required among the persons, agencies, and departments responsible for project completion and review all schedules, reports, and orders.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assist the Director of Operations with Special Projects in the office.
Participate in inspections of facilities, custodian supply rooms, and garbage areas to ensure compliance with requirements, cleanliness, and proper upkeep of the property.
Assisting with being an liaison to the New York City Department of Citywide Administrative, Services (DCAS) and the Bronx District Attorney's Office
Available via phone 24/7 to respond to facility-related emergencies. Oversee the functioning of building systems including mechanical, electrical, fire/life safety, and elevators with DCAS.
Assist with Overseeing contractors from facility renovation projects entailing DCAS, electrical systems, and production floor arrangement.
Assisting with working with vendors from various companies for the office to make sure supplies are delivered and Special Projects are completed.
Assist with movement of all staff to new offices and cubicle spaces.
Assisting with the Iron Mountain Project, GRM Project, and DORIS Facility Project.
Assist the Building Facilities Manager when needed in all maintenance and custodial worker. Supervises, directs, assigns, and evaluates the daily work of assigned staff.
Assure conformance with project completion dates;
Check work performance and prepare status reports for Executive Staff.
Ensure daily cleaning and inspection to ensure that the facility is always well maintained.
Oversee and direct activities to ensure successful completion of all building maintenance for DA areas.
Oversee the Mail Room.
Oversee all Temporary Employees.
Provide professional leadership development of the staff when coverage is needed.
Oversee maintenance of all records of past and present.
Perform all other related duties and projects as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or at least two years of Supervisory experience in the Operations field.
A valid New York State driver’s license and a minimum of two years of driving experience are required; license must be maintained for the duration of employment.
High Data Entry skills
Experience in project management and logistics.
Candidates must be highly skilled in standard operating systems and software (Windows, Microsoft Office, Excel, Word and PowerPoint).
Must be detail-oriented with superior organizational, analytical, writing, and communication skills.
Ability to utilize strong communication skills to effectively communicate with all levels of the agency.
Ability to resolve conflicts and multitask Strong attention to detail, deadlines, confidentiality, and organization.
Strong project management skills in a team-oriented environment
1. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and two years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to the duties described above; or
2. High school graduation or equivalent and six years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to the duties as described above; or
3. Education and/or experience which is equivalent to "1" or "2" above. However, all candidates must have at least one year of experience as described in "1" above.
