Major Responsibilities
- Under general supervision, with considerable latitude for independent initiative and judgment, perform difficult and responsible supervisory and administrative work for the Revenue Unit.
- Assist the Chief of Concessions on all matters pertaining to the administration of the Revenue Unit.
- Advise and provide guidance to Project Coordinators on concession related matters.
- Perform analysis of concession related data and prepare reports and presentations for division management.
- Manage the concession solicitation, evaluation and award processes, from research and development of ideas to the implementation of a license agreement. Assist in the license agreement negotiation process.
- Coordinate with the Parks Legal Division, the City Law Department and the Mayor’s Office of Contract Services on concession solicitations and awards.
- Serve as the point person for a portfolio of active concession projects across the city to help ensure high-quality service delivery to the public.
- Identify and develop new business opportunities to enhance the visitor experience at parks.
- Foster strong working relationships with local businesses and assist Parks in expanding its network of potential partners.
- Attend Community Board meetings, perform on-site walkthroughs and conduct public bid openings.

A master’s degree from an accredited college or university, accredited by regional, national, professional or specialized agencies recognized as accrediting bodies by the U.S. Secretary of Education and the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) in economics, finance, accounting, business or public administration, human resources management, management science, operations research, organizational behavior, industrial psychology, statistics, personnel administration, labor relations, psychology, sociology, human resources development, political science, urban studies or a closely related field, and one year of satisfactory full-time professional experience in one or a combination of the following: working with the budget of a large public or private concern in budget administration, accounting, economic or financial administration, or fiscal or economic research; or in management or methods analysis, operations research, organizational research or program evaluation; or in personnel or public administration, recruitment, position classification, personnel relations, labor relations, employee
benefits, staff development, employment program planning/administration, labor market research, economic planning, social services program planning/evaluation, or fiscal management; or in a related area; or
2. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university, accredited by regional, national, professional or specialized agencies recognized as accrediting bodies by the U.S. Secretary of Education and the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) and three years of satisfactory full-time professional experience in the areas described in “1" above.
1. Bachelor’s degree. 2. Excellent writing, communication and organizational skills. 3. Ability to work independently and initiate projects. 4. Financial analysis experience. 5. Proficiency in computer software including Outlook, Microsoft Word, Excel and Access. 6. Valid New York State driver license.
