The mission of Environment and Planning (E&P) at NYC Parks is to plan resilient and sustainable parks, public spaces, and recreational amenities, build a park system for present and future generations, and care for parks and public spaces.
This position will work within the Data Systems and Analytics team of the E&P division. The team is responsible for: creating and maintaining tools, applications, enterprise asset management systems, reports, and dashboards; conducting analytics to support forestry, natural resources, and planning operations, management, and conservation; using data-driven insights to inform strategic decision-making; and collaborating with stakeholders across the City.
Major Responsibilities
- Under general direction of supervisor, with latitude for independent initiative and judgment, support the division through data and product development and management, analysis, visualization, and reporting using spatial and non-spatial data.
- Design, develop and maintain cross-functional and interoperable solutions across various platforms, including the ESRI and Microsoft suite, to support division needs.
- Produce and maintain reports, dashboards, maps, and other data visualizations.
- Provide analytical support as needed to drive forward programmatic and management goals.
- Create and keep up-to-date technical documentation on applications, workflows, etc. including user guides and manuals.
- Collaborate across divisions and partners and work with cross-functional teams to deliver timely and successful solutions.

MOVEMENT IN THE FACE OF CIVIL SERVICE LISTS IS PROHIBITED UNDER CIVIL SERVICE LAW.
1. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and two years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to the duties described above; or
2. High school graduation or equivalent and six years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to the duties as described above; or
3. Education and/or experience which is equivalent to "1" or "2" above. However, all candidates must have at least one year of experience as described in "1" above.
1. Demonstrated experience with the ESRI cloud and desktop suite, including ArcGIS Pro, Field Maps, Survey123, and web app and dashboard development. 2. Demonstrated experience with the Microsoft Power Platform including Power Query and Power Automate. 3. Familiarity with business intelligence tools such as PowerBI or Tableau. 4. Demonstrated ability to interpret, capture, and document user requirements and business needs. 5. Previous experience with creating technical documentation, including metadata, data dictionaries, and user manuals. 6. Excellent communication skills. 7. Demonstrated ability to work as part of a cross-functional team.
