The New York County District Attorney’s Office has an immediate opening for a Cybercrime Intelligence Analyst in the Cybercrime Intelligence Unit (CIU) of its Cybercrime and Identity Theft Bureau (CITB). The Bureau is committed to protecting the public by investigating and prosecuting sophisticated cybercrime and identity theft schemes in Manhattan and worldwide. The Bureau investigates and prosecutes cases involving check and credit card fraud, cyber impersonation, computer hacking, as well as money laundering and threats to financial institutions. The Cybercrime Intelligence Unit is a team within the Bureau conducting proactive investigations into sophisticated networks of organized cybercrime as well as curating a strategic base of actionable intelligence to support broader investigations within the Office, with the primary goal of protecting New York County’s residents and financial infrastructure.
Responsibilities:
- Collect, organize, and analyze a wide range of data in various formats to develop actionable intelligence and investigative leads into networks of organized cybercrime.
- Generate subpoenas and other legal process in support of active investigations.
- Communicate investigative results to team members and supervisors.
- Testify under oath regarding analysis preformed.
- Liaise with other law enforcement partners to further common goals.
- Perform data entry and administrative tasks.
In addition to the Minimum Qualification Requirements, candidates must possess the following:
- Level 1 – bachelor’s degree from an accredited college.
- Level 2 – bachelor’s degree from an accredited college and one (1) year of experience either as a paralegal in the criminal justice field or equivalent.
Preferred Requirements/Skills:
- Ability to read, write and speak Russian and/or Chinese at an advanced level.
- Familiarity with New York State, federal, and international court systems.
- Skills in programming and database management.
- Extensive experience using standard computer software (e.g., Microsoft 365).
- Ability to learn new, domain-specific software.
- Basic understanding of the internet’s technical foundations (e.g., infrastructure, protocols, and applications).
- Demonstrated interest in intelligence, criminal justice, and technology.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
- Ability to work both independently and in team settings.

- Must be able and willing to work in-person at the office five days a week.
Additional Information:
- Current office employees: To be eligible for a transfer or promotion, staff must have already served at least 1 year in their current position and be in good standing. In addition, must meet the minimum qualifications of the position.
- Looking for candidates that could commit to two (2) years to the hiring Unit.
- Authorization to work in the United States is required for this position.
Qualification Requirements
1. High school graduation or equivalent and three years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to duties described above; or
2. Education and/or experience which is equivalent to "1" above.
