APPLICANTS MUST BE PERMANENT IN THE CLERICAL ASSOCIATE CIVIL SERVICE TITLE OR IN A COMPARABLE TITLE ELIGIBLE FOR 6.1.9.

The Division of Financial Review and Processing (FRP) is responsible for the initiating adverse actions on cash assistance cases due to information obtained from the State Wage Reporting, Department of Corrections, Unemployment Insurance and child support greater than cash assistance grant computer matches. The FRP also sanctions individuals who fail to cooperate with child support requirements. It takes actions on behalf of the Bureau of Fraud Investigation and Liens and Recovery.

DFRP is recruiting for (1) one Clerical Associate III to function as a Control Unit Clerk, who will:

- Perform quality assurance on all referral and recoupment packet, cases, and document associated with ongoing special projects; Make copies and data enters each packet into the DFRP tracking system. Data enters batches of information from source documents into the Welfare Management System (WMS).

- Maintain a log that records all files, packets, and case records for quick and efficient storage and retrieval. Ensure that all cases are appropriately filed and accounted.

- Review and cross reference recoupment information from the Automated Listing of Eligibility Requirements Tracking System (ALERTS) with the recoupment packets received to verify that all recoupment actions have been accounted. Check WMS daily to verify that all recoupment actions listed were processed error free.

- Print and review reports WJNR0125 (Error Report) and WINR0126 (Processed Cases) to locate previously batched and data entered cases with errors and annotate the DFRP tracking system. Make copies of cases with errors and attach them to the case packet to the Group supervisor for corrections. Case packets with no errors are decontrolled by the Senior Control Clerk in the DFRP tracking system and held for 12-15 days.

- Record daily, in the unit log, all documents that have been data entered. Compile weekly and monthly statistical reports.

- Perform routine clerical and word processing functions, including typing, filing, photocopying, scanning and indexing. Ensure that documents digitally converted have been grouped accordingly.


Minimum Qualifications

Qualification Requirements
A four-year high school diploma or its educational equivalent approved by a State's department of education or a recognized accrediting organization and one year of satisfactory clerical experience.
Skills Requirement
Keyboard familiarity with the ability to type at a minimum of 100 key strokes (20 words) per minute.

Residency Requirement

New York City residency is generally required within 90 days of appointment. However, City Employees in certain titles who have worked for the City for 2 continuous years may also be eligible to reside in Nassau, Suffolk, Putnam, Westchester, Rockland, or Orange County.
