THE SELECTED CANDIDATE WILL BE OFFERED A SALARY BETWEEN $58,695 - $73,437.

The Administration for Children’s Services (ACS) protects and promotes the safety and well-being of New York City’s children and families by providing child welfare, juvenile justice, and early care services. The Nicholas Scoppetta Children’s Center (NSCC) provides children with a temporary living environment that is non-judgmental, supportive, caring, and structured, and strives to heal past and ongoing trauma. We believe that every child deserves safety, happiness, health, and love in our care, no matter how long or short their stay. Children in our care are prepared to transition to placement or achieve permanency after their stay at the Children’s Center. In caring for our kids, we prioritize the values of acceptance, compassion, respect, equality, growth, education, development, promoting elf-esteem, tolerance, and the preservation of self-identity.

The Office of Older Youth Services (OYS) is responsible for technical assistance around permanency planning and promoting shorter lengths of stay in residential placements for youth in foster care. In addition, we look at the well-being and safety of youth 12-21 years of age. The Office of Older Youth Services includes the following program areas: Youth Justice/PINS/DOC- Conferencing, Missing Children’s Outreach Unit, Supervision to 21, IPAS-CW (Intensive Preventive Aftercare Services for Child Welfare), APPLA Monitoring Unit, Teen Specialist Unit, Office of Child Trafficking Prevention and Policy, Reentry, Independent Review, OYS Special Projects and OYS Data Accountability. We also provide guidance for the foster care agencies around child sex trafficking, iFoster, transitional plans, NYTD (National Transitional Database), Sexual Health and Reproduction, CCRS coding and crossover youth practice model and Raise the Age. FPS Conferencing works with external experts, professionals and internal cross-divisional partners to advance the skill set of staff in the Unit and build capacity internally and within Foster Care and Residential Care Providers that will expand services for teens and improve the outcomes all children, families, youth, persons in need of supervision, incarcerated youth and youth reunifying with families.

Job duties include:

- Schedule Family Team Meetings for the assigned unit.
- Identify communities' sites for FTC conferences that are conducive to the FTC process.
- Maintain liaisons with key FTC stakeholders to convey information/Provider feedback.
- Maintain monthly controls on all aspects of the FTCC scheduling process.
- Respond to request for information from public agencies community resources by determining what information is required.
- Answers all inquiries related to the scheduling of FTC scheduling process.
- Answers all inquiries related to the scheduling of FTC conferences.
- Under the direction of the unit manager, performs administrative work in order to ensure efficiency of project outcomes.

Minimum Qualifications

1. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and three years of satisfactory full-time progressively responsible clerical/administrative experience, one year of which must have been in an administrative capacity or supervising staff performing clerical/administrative work of more than moderate difficulty; or
2. An associate degree or 60 semester credits from an accredited college and four years of satisfactory full-time progressively responsible clerical/administrative experience including one year of the administrative supervisory experience described in "1" above; or
3. A four-year high school diploma or its educational equivalent approved by a State's department of education or a recognized accrediting organization and five years of satisfactory full-time progressively responsible clerical/administrative experience including one year of the administrative supervisory experience as described in "1" above;
4. Education and/or experience equivalent to "1", "2", or "3" above. However, all candidates must possess the one year of administrative or supervisory experience as described in "1" above. Education above the high school level may be substituted for the general clerical/administrative experience (but not for the one year of administrative or supervisory experience described in "1" above) at a rate of 30 semester credits from an accredited college for 6 months of experience up to a maximum of 3½ years.

Residency Requirement

New York City residency is generally required within 90 days of appointment. However, City Employees in certain titles who have worked for the City for 2 continuous years may also be eligible to reside in Nassau, Suffolk, Putnam, Westchester, Rockland, or Orange County.
