Job Description

Under general supervision, with some latitude for independent initiative, the selected candidate will perform various functions assisting with the coordination of Office of Safety & Security activities.
Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following:
1. Review, process, and close out Workplace Violence and NYCHA Safety and Security reports.
2. Assist, implement, monitor safety and security initiatives at NYCHA developments.
3. Conduct unannounced inspections of buildings where there are Security/Firewatch guards.
4. Maintain safety and security records, written reports, daily and monthly metrics.
5. Conduct regular audits of files to ensure compliance with department/agency guidelines and protocols.
6. Perform risk assessments at each NYCHA property.
7. Attend staff meetings, training sessions and community meetings as required.
8. Work with NYCHA Security and NYPD on various safety initiatives.
9. Perform daily office operational tasks.
Special Conditions: Individual selected for this position will be actively engaged in physical building inspections, as well as performing tasks that require a lot of walking, climbing stairs and standing for long periods of time.

Qualification Requirements
1. High school graduation or equivalent and three years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to duties described above; or
2. Education and/or experience which is equivalent to "1" above.
