Job Description

Under general supervision, with latitude for independent initiative and judgment, the selected candidate will supervise, plan, implement, coordinate, monitor and/or evaluate Resident Watch activities at NYCHA developments. Responsibilities will include but are not limited to the following:
1. Conduct outreach to NYCHA residents and assist supervisors/volunteers with recruitment efforts; set up patrols and explain the duties of Resident Watch captains, co-captains, and floor captains.
2. Conduct unannounced inspections of buildings where there is an active Resident Watch patrol.
3. Assist in the resolution of Resident Watch related issues, alongside Property Manager.
4. Conduct and attend Borough wide and/or local patrol meetings.
5. Coordinate and facilitate staff meetings, training sessions and community meetings as required (i.e. Resident Watch Supervisor, Police Service Area and Community Board meetings).
6. Maintain program records, written reports, daily and monthly statistics.
7. Conduct regular audits of program files to ensure compliance with guidelines and protocol.
8. Coordinate training of new Resident Watch staff.
9. Mediate conflict resolution in assigned areas.
10. Coordinate timely and accurate submission of employee related documents (i.e. time & attendance, resignations, etc.).
11. Assist with any special Safety and Security Department initiatives and/or assignments.

1. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and two years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to the duties described above; or
2. High school graduation or equivalent and six years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to the duties as described above; or
3. Education and/or experience which is equivalent to "1" or "2" above. However, all candidates must have at least one year of experience as described in "1" above.
1. Excellent written, verbal, and engagement skills. 2. Four or more years of Community work experience. 3. Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools, specifically Excel.
