The New York City Housing Authority is seeking a Housing Assistant for the Resident Relocations Services Department (RRSD). This role is to support relocation of NYCHA residents at developments where planned major modernization or unplanned urgent repairs are required, including repairs to address health and safety issues. Reporting to the Senior Program Manager, with wide latitude for independent initiative and judgment, the Housing Assistant will oversee the overall coordination of Hospitalities and Court Cases, including, planning and implementation of the move and the return to original apartment. In addition, the Housing Assistants’ duties will also be responsible for the following:

1. Provide guidance and information to tenants on short- and long-term relocations
2. Track, Manage and Monitor citywide the Hospitality relocations.
3. Follow up with Development office regarding the readiness of apartment units.
4. Coordinate with hotels, moving vendors, and internal departments,
5. Collaborate with different stakeholder including the Law Department, the COOs Office, ATAD, Capital Projects, and Intergovernmental Relations and provide relocation reports in a timely
manner.
6. Be able to conduct field visits to deliver gift cards and confirm units are move in ready as needed.
7. Review annuals, interims, rent calculations and terminations cases.
8. Assist in identifying problem areas and recommending ways to improve and streamlining process flows.
9. Track and Monitor court cases to identify trends and get in front of issues.
10. Attend administrative hearings and appearances at Housing Court cases (HP).
11. Prepare evaluation report, perform analyze, and review program plans, and performance, including completing Pre and Post Tenant Survey.
12. Represent NYCHA at external resident, community, and citywide events.

Minimum Qualifications

1. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and two years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to the duties described above; or
2. High school graduation or equivalent and six years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to the duties as described above; or
3. Education and/or experience which is equivalent to "1" or "2" above. However, all candidates must have at least one year of experience as described in "1" above.
