The Bureau of Cleaning & Collection at the New York City Department of Sanitation is seeking a Community Coordinator. Under supervision, with some latitude plans, implements, and coordinates important community services. Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
- Inspect requested and field generated vacant properties for lot cleaning.
- Perform investigative research and identify the ownership of properties in question
- Prepare reports and maintains log of all activities and orders used to substantiate proper use of Federal CDBG money.
- Inspect and completes 311 SCAN and Community complaints in accordance with established procedures, and returns them by due date as specified.
- Identify Sanitation’s related problems correctly and clearly, and determine the necessary corrective actions
1. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and two years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to the duties described above; or
2. High school graduation or equivalent and six years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to the duties as described above; or
3. Education and/or experience which is equivalent to "1" or "2" above. However, all candidates must have at least one year of experience as described in "1" above.
1. Excellent organizational, written, and oral communication skills. 2. Applicant must have working knowledge of general office equipment and basic computer skills (i.e.: Word, Excel and Power Point) 3. Strong analytical, research and statistical skills.
