The Citywide Concrete Program inspects curb and sidewalk complaints from the public, identifying damaged or missing sidewalk & curbs that are pedestrian & vehicular hazards and can cause severe flooding. Citywide Concrete Unit (CWC) supports the agency s goal to enhance, rehabilitate, and maintain the City s infrastructure by acting as the agency s primary construction unit. We employ dedicated engineers, managers, support staff, laborers and adopt cost-savings and efficiency, while maintaining the highest standards of excellence and service to safety and quality.
Under general supervision, the selected candidate will be responsible for performing the following duties but not limited to:
Performing research within the NYC community on how to provide better outreach tools for providing important community services. Attending outreach events on behalf of the unit. Prepare evaluation reports, perform analysis on community outreach programs and projects; produce and perform pilot projects that relate to assisting the community response and outreach staff members. Research trends and best practices in data-driven performance management, data visualization and operational dashboards to make the program more efficient in providing its service. Providing technical assistance and training to subordinate and supporting staff in techniques of program implementation and management. Performing Quality Improvement community related projects in assisting with the reduction of audits needed and increasing staff efficiency. Understanding and learning the roles of all the community response and outreach staff members. Assist with programs for implementing and monitoring new initiatives throughout the division and having a keen attention to detail, flexibility, an ability to multi-task, and an enthusiastic work ethic. Engage with agency leadership, including directors, to understand their innovation capabilities and help them plan how to improve. Use of in-house databases to plan, track, cost and reconcile community projects and associated costs. Oversee the audit of IFA and 311 costs associated to community projects within the different community boards. Produce schedules and updates to planned work within subsequent community boards.

1. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and two years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to the duties described above; or
2. High school graduation or equivalent and six years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to the duties as described above; or
3. Education and/or experience which is equivalent to "1" or "2" above. However, all candidates must have at least one year of experience as described in "1" above.
Preference will be given to candidates possessing the following: Strong analytical and computer skills, including proficiency using Microsoft Excel and Access queries for community related reports.
New York City residency is generally required within 90 days of appointment. However, City Employees in certain titles who have worked for the City for 2 continuous years may also be eligible to reside in Nassau, Suffolk, Putnam, Westchester, Rockland, or Orange County.
