Job Description
Brooklyn Community Board #3 represents the neighborhood of Bedford-Stuyvesant. The Community Board
office assists residents with municipal service delivery requests, community concerns and issues. We are
looking to hire a Full-Time Community Associate, to report for in-office work, available during business
hours Monday – Friday – 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, for five days a week for various assignments at the
Community Board #3 Office. Requiring some night meetings. Must be able to attend monthly General Board
Meetings and other Meetings and Events as assigned by the District Manager.
Specific duties may include, but are not limited to:
- Fielding phone calls and emails from city agencies, elected officials’ offices, and the public
- Assisting with the preparation for general board and committee meetings
- Working on projects that advance district service and quality of life goals, providing status reports
- Constituent Services, responding and resolving constituent service requests
- Manage website update, social media accounts, and board newsletter.
- General office administrative tasks, but not limited to filing, scheduling, general correspondence,
drafting letters and promotional materials, and posting public notices.

Qualification Requirements
1. High school graduation or equivalent and three years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to duties described above; or
2. Education and/or experience which is equivalent to "1" above.
