Under supervision, with latitude for independent judgment, performs moderately difficult and responsible clerical work in maintaining and checking various kinds of records, performs moderately difficult data entry and retrieval using various software applications and guidelines to determine compensability of claims or to refer for legal review.
May be for performing responsible clerical work in the indexing of workers’ compensation claims and other administrative and operational tasks by processing, recording, checking, and maintaining records; receiving and processing data, performs investigative work with other City agencies to obtain information regarding job injury claims
Duties will include but are not limited to, reviewing and preparing documents, data entry and retrieval, photocopying, answering phones and relaying messages, scheduling appointments, and other special projects as needed. The candidate will be responsible for opening, processing and properly routing incoming mail and files, filing mail and various legal documents, and performing associated data entry. The candidate may also be required to respond via telephone and/or email to inquiries or requests for files and/or documents and may serve as a receptionist; maintaining log books, welcoming and advising staff of guests/witnesses.

Qualification Requirements
A four-year high school diploma or its educational equivalent approved by a State's department of education or a recognized accrediting organization and one year of satisfactory clerical experience.
Skills Requirement
Keyboard familiarity with the ability to type at a minimum of 100 key strokes (20 words) per minute.
