This position encompasses responsible work of varying degrees of difficulty performed under the supervision of higher level staff.
Primarily responsible for correctly docketing legal documents by recording specified data in Agency Information System; reconciles administrative reports to ensure all appropriate procedures have been followed; route critical legal matters. These documents will be date and time stamped according to established procedures. Perform data entry into computer log/system to account for documents received on behalf of the department, distinguishing between the manner of receipt. Must understand the flow of legal documents and rapidly assimilate information regarding which division works on what, which agencies handle what kind of matters, and recognize document types and the urgency around each type. Will be responsible for docketing at various document intake desks, as well as handle administrative correspondence and tasks related to the Unit. Must be able to multitask on a variety of projects. Written and verbal communications skills are important. Respond to telephone inquiries from the general public and act as the front line customer service person by answering calls that are appropriate and forwarding others to the responsible staff. Research matters in agency information systems to correctly assign and route documents. Some of the physical activities performed including lifting and carrying large boxes and/or heavy files; climbing stairs and/or walking throughout the building. Creation and distribution of postage, receipt, processing and delivery of mail. Work with mail equipment and various package vendors systems for mail processing. Provide support at the hand delivery station. Process documents received at the electronic fax station. Photocopy litigation documents and files. Work on special projects as required. Cross train with different operations units.

Qualification Requirements
A four-year high school diploma or its educational equivalent approved by a State's department of education or a recognized accrediting organization and one year of satisfactory clerical experience.
Skills Requirement
Keyboard familiarity with the ability to type at a minimum of 100 key strokes (20 words) per minute.
Excellent written and oral communication skills and the ability to multi-task with flexibility and efficiency while achieving required productivity levels. Expertise in applicable data entry and Microsoft Office applications is required.
