The New York City Employees’ Retirement System (NYCERS) was founded by the New York State Legislature in 1920 with 13,331 members. Today, NYCERS has grown into the largest municipal public employee retirement system in the United States with more than 423,000 active members and retirees including civilian employees such as clerical workers, accountants and social workers, and uniformed employees such as New York City Correction Officers and Sanitation Workers.
The Data Cleansing Division seeks to hire a Pension Rules and Data Specialist (PRDS). The areas of responsibility for this position include collaborating with the Core Team on a variety of tasks focusing on the accuracy of data, working closely with the Supervisor of the Data Cleansing Division and the Business Rule Division team for instructions on cleansing data for the Legacy Replacement Project (LRP), validating and cleansing data and other administrative tasks related to LRP.
The PRDS must be able to interact effectively with the Core Team and other stakeholders. Success in this position requires multi-tasking ability, and commitment to NYCERS’ mission.
Qualification Requirements
A four-year high school diploma or its educational equivalent approved by a State's department of education or a recognized accrediting organization and one year of satisfactory clerical experience.
Skills Requirement
Keyboard familiarity with the ability to type at a minimum of 100 key strokes (20 words) per minute.
- Knowledge of the various retirement plans and laws NYCERS administers - Knowledge about membership and Pension Payroll Processes - Excellent analytical, interpersonal, and communication skills - Flexible and capable of performing multiple tasks - Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word
