The Clerical Associate will be responsible for a myriad of critical administrative tasks including:
Receiving and processing internal disciplinary complaints issued to Dept. of Sanitation (DSNY) Workers. Reviewing accompanying documentation for completeness and requesting missing documentation from the DSNY field offices when necessary. Updating Sanitation Workers’ disciplinary records to reflect the outcome of internal disciplinary conferences. Processing of settlement documentation. Administratively closing disciplinary matters upon notification from Human Resources of employees’ retirement or resignation from the DSNY. Generating an associated closing report that is shared with the DSNY Commissioner. Assisting the office with additional tasks assigned on an as-needed basis.
Qualification Requirements
A four-year high school diploma or its educational equivalent approved by a State's department of education or a recognized accrediting organization and one year of satisfactory clerical experience.
Skills Requirement
Keyboard familiarity with the ability to type at a minimum of 100 key strokes (20 words) per minute.
- Experience using MS Windows including, Outlook, Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint. - Excellent organizational and communication skills. - Must be comfortable working in a dynamic atmosphere handling multiple concurrent activities displaying excellent attention to details. - Work well with a team to meet deadlines. - Knowledge of detailed record keeping systems.
