The NYC Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) enriches the environment and protects public health for all New Yorkers by providing 1.1 billion gallons of high quality drinking water, managing wastewater and stormwater, and reducing air, noise, and hazardous materials pollution. DEP is the largest combined municipal water and wastewater utility in the country, with nearly 6,000 employees. DEP's water supply system is comprised of 19 reservoirs and 3 controlled lakes throughout the system’s 2,000 square mile watershed that extends 125 miles north and west of the City.
The Bureau of Water Supply seeks to hire a Clerical Associate for a position with the Source Water Operations Directorate, located in Arkville, New York. The Source Water Operations Directorate operates and maintains all NYC water supply infrastructure, lands, NYC owned public highways and bridges upstream of Kensico Reservoir and Croton Lake Gatehouse, and Bureau of Water Supply (BWS) owned and operated water resource recovery facilities and collection systems, in order to ensure a continuous delivery of high quality drinking water to NYC and upstate communities and meet all state and federal reservoir release and other regulatory requirements.
Under supervision, of the Source Water Operations Executive Assistant, the Clerical Associate II will perform responsible administrative work of varying degrees of difficulty, with some latitude of independent initiative and judgement, in direct support of the Source Water Operations Executive Assistant (PAAIII) and staff located at the DEP facility in Arkville, NY.
Specific duties include:
- Providing essential administrative support to the Executive Assistant and Director of Source Water Operations.
- Preparing and drafting presentations, correspondence and reports.
- Scheduling and coordinating meetings.
- Assisting with data entry and filing.
- Maintaining and restocking office supplies.
- Meeting and greeting DEP visitors at the Arkville office.
- Performing special tasks as assigned by the Executive Assistant.

Preferred Skills:
- Experience with Windows Operating System and Microsoft Office Suite including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint & One Drive
- Ability to navigate Citytime timekeeping program.
- Ability to learn other software programs such as Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS)
- Ability to write, review and edit reports.
- Ability to collect and analyze relevant data on spreadsheets.

Arkville is a hamlet in the Town of Middletown, Delaware County, New York approximately 145 miles northwest of New York City.
Qualification Requirements
A four-year high school diploma or its educational equivalent approved by a State's department of education or a recognized accrediting organization and one year of satisfactory clerical experience.
Skills Requirement
Keyboard familiarity with the ability to type at a minimum of 100 key strokes (20 words) per minute.
