The New York City Housing Authority (NYCHA) is the nation’s largest public housing authority, with an operating budget of $3.3 billion and approximately 10,600 employees who manage and maintain 326 developments that house over 400,000 residents.

Under general supervision, City Laborer workers for Abatement unit (RIIS) will perform common laboring work assisting in routine maintenance and repair work; performing related work.
Specific duties shall include, but not be limited to the following:

1. Perform labor requiring physical strength in the support of maintenance functions on NYCHA infrastructure.
2. Move, lift and carry items of various weight and sizes.
3. May utilize hand or power-driven equipment in the performance of duties.
4. May be required to operate motor vehicles in connection with the performance of duties.
5. By assignment, may oversee the daily activity of other laborers in the performance of their duties.

applicable).
