The New York City Taxi and Limousine Commission (TLC) is the nation’s largest for-hire transportation agency, licensing and regulating the City’s yellow and green taxicabs, for-hire vehicles, rideshare companies, commuter vans, and luxury limousines. TLC develops and enforces rules to promote safety, transparency, and accessibility, and works to promote consumer and driver protection for a vital mode of transport in New York City. TLC-regulated drivers, vehicles, and businesses move over one million people a day. With the introduction of new apps and technologies, TLC is on the front lines of a changing mobility landscape. - Review medallions information and TLC-licensed businesses data from internal databases and other TLC divisions to identify the relationships between Medallion Owners, TLC-licensed Brokers and TLC-licensed Agents.
- Coordinate outreach and liaison support to TLC-licensed brokers and agents in person, over the telephone, or via email.
- Conduct research involving the examination of records and data in collaboration with other TLC divisions, and City and State agencies.
- Assist with compilation and review of annual disclosure forms from TLC-licensed businesses to promote accountability of TLC licenses and TLC-associated business interests in an effort to prevent potential conflicts of interest.
- Support the Business Protection team to develop and implement new business practice standards to ensure the financial stability of the transportation sector.
- Create slide decks, reports, policy memos, workflows, and other materials as needed.


Minimum Qualifications

1. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and two years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to the duties described above; or
2. High school graduation or equivalent and six years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to the duties as described above; or
3. Education and/or experience which is equivalent to "1" or "2" above. However, all candidates must have at least one year of experience as described in "1" above.


Preferred Skills

- One year experience with program management tools and related process management methods. - One year of reporting complex reports using spreadsheets and MS tools. - One year of conducting outreach to TLC licensed Brokers and Agents. - Effective and efficient problem-solving skills. - Ability to work well independently and collaboratively in a team environment. - Review and analyze quantitative and qualitative data from a range of sources. - Experience using advanced functions of Microsoft Excel.

Residency Requirement

New York City residency is generally required within 90 days of appointment. However, City Employees in certain titles who have worked for the City for 2 continuous years may also be eligible to reside in Nassau, Suffolk, Putnam, Westchester, Rockland, or Orange County. To determine if the residency requirement applies to you, please discuss with the agency representative at the time of interview.
