The Infrastructure team is seeking a skilled AWS Architect with expertise in Kubernetes to manage our AWS infrastructure, Kubernetes clusters, and Mendix in the private cloud. The successful candidate will lead a team of Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) specializing in AWS and Azure infrastructure.

The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in AWS services and architecture, along with hands-on experience in designing, deploying, and maintaining Kubernetes clusters. Responsibilities include optimizing our AWS environment for Kubernetes workloads, ensuring high availability and scalability, and implementing best practices for containerized applications. This role requires availability after regular business hours to address urgent issues and ensure the smooth operation of our cloud environments.

Key Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and manage scalable, secure, and resilient AWS solutions with a focus on EKS clusters and Mendix in private cloud environments.
- Develop and maintain architectural blueprints and documentation for cloud infrastructure and applications.
- Lead and mentor a team of SMEs in AWS and Azure infrastructure.
- Oversee the deployment, monitoring, and maintenance of AWS and Azure environments.
- Implement best practices for cloud security, cost management, and operational efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
- Provide advanced technical support and guidance for Mendix applications hosted in private clouds.
- Optimize and troubleshoot EKS clusters to ensure high availability and performance.
- Collaborate with development teams to align Mendix and EKS configurations with application requirements.
- Be available after regular business hours to address urgent issues and support critical operations.
- Participate in on-call rotations to ensure 24/7 support for cloud infrastructure.
- Work closely with project managers, developers, and business stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver effective cloud solutions.
- Communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders in a clear and concise manner.

1. A master's degree in computer science from an accredited college or university and three (3) years of progressively more responsible, full-time, satisfactory experience in Information Technology (IT) including applications development, systems development, data communications and networking, database administration, data processing, or user services. At least eighteen (18) months of this experience must have been in an administrative, managerial or executive capacity in the areas of applications development, systems development, data communications and networking, database administration, data processing or in the supervision of staff performing these duties; or

2. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university and four (4) years of progressively more responsible, full-time, satisfactory experience as described in "1" above; or

3. A four-year high school diploma or its educational equivalent, and six (6) years of progressively more responsible, full-time, satisfactory experience as described in "1" above; or

4. A satisfactory combination of education and experience equivalent to "1", "2" or "3" above. However, all candidates must have at least a four-year high school diploma or its educational equivalent and must possess at least three (3) years of experience as described in "1" above, including the eighteen (18) months of administrative, managerial, executive or supervisory experience as described in "1" above.

In the absence of a baccalaureate degree, undergraduate credits may be substituted for a maximum of two (2) years of the required experience in IT on the basis of 30 semester credits for six (6) months of the required experience. Graduate credits in computer science may be substituted for a maximum of one (1) year of the required experience in IT on the basis of 30 graduate semester credits in computer science for one (1) year of the required IT experience. However, undergraduate and/or graduate credits may not be substituted for the eighteen (18) months of experience in an administrative, managerial, executive, or supervisory capacity as described in "1" above.

- Extensive experience as an AWS Architect, with a deep understanding of EKS and Mendix. - Proficiency in AWS services, particularly EKS, EC2, S3, RDS, and IAM. - Expertise in Mendix deployment and management in private cloud settings. - Proven experience managing and leading a team of cloud infrastructure SMEs. - Strong background in both AWS and Azure cloud environments. AWS Practitioner and CCNA, CCNP, MSCE. - Solid understanding of Kubernetes and container orchestration. - Familiarity with Azure services and infrastructure management. - Strong scripting skills (e.g., Powershell) and infrastructure as code (IaC) tools (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation). - Excellent leadership and team management abilities. - Strong problem-solving and analytical skills. - Effective communication and interpersonal skills. - Ability to work independently and make sound decisions under pressure.
