JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Certificate of Conduct and Non-Criminal Fingerprint Unit seeks a qualified Associate Fingerprint Technician, I to assist with operations.
Under direct supervision, the Associate Fingerprint Technician, I takes fingerprints of applicants for employment or persons applying for licensure, or persons requesting Certificate of Good Conduct to obtain background checks; Maintains records on the number and type of fingerprints taken, filed, searched, and other work performed.
HOURS/ SHIFT:
Monday - Friday; 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM

In compliance with Federal Law, all persons hired will be required to verify identity and eligibility to work in the United States and to complete the required employment eligibility verification document form upon hire.

1. A four year high school diploma or its educational equivalent and one year of full-time experience in fingerprint identification work.
SPECIAL NOTE:
For assignment to Assignment Level III or IV, candidates must have, in addition to the qualification requirements above, one year of full-time experience in latent print identification work.
Type forms, data entry, operate computer consoles.

New York City residency is generally required within 90 days of appointment. However, City Employees in certain titles who have worked for the City for 2 continuous years may also be eligible to reside in Nassau, Suffolk, Putnam, Westchester, Rockland, or Orange County.
