The New York County District Attorney’s Office (DANY) has an opening for an Assistant Supervisor of its Discovery Analyst Group within the Litigation Support Unit (LSU). LSU helps DANY keep up with the pace of change occurring in discovery and related technology. LSU plays a crucial role in managing the growing volume of digital evidence coming to DANY. LSU Discovery Analysts assist case teams in their response to discovery requests and provide case teams with support reviewing and preparing discoverable materials. In this position, the Assistant Supervisors, under the guidance of the Litigation Support Unit Chief and the Litigation Support Unit Liaison, will supervise and manage the Discovery Analysts and the NYPD-related discovery being requested and received through LSU. They will also assist with other functions in the Litigation Support Unit.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Provide support to the Litigation Support Unit Liaison in managing a team of analysts and overseeing daily responsibilities of discovery-related work.
- Assist in coordinating the interviewing, hiring, and training processes for new staff.
- Assist in providing overall coordination in the retrieval and saving of NYPD-related discovery for DANY cases, including:
o Assist with associating any NYPD-related discovery sent directly to LSU with an arrest and, if necessary, notify ADA of the new discovery’s existence.
o Respond to general office queries and questions regarding NYPD-related discovery policy and protocol.
- Assist Litigation Support Unit Liaison and Unit Chief in reviewing workflows, ensuring proper allocation of resources, and advising on anticipated work-related matters.
- Serve as one of the central DANY liaisons to NYPD on all outstanding discovery-related issues.
- Prepare periodic reporting on Unit productivity.
- Collaborate with Litigation Support Unit Liaison and other DANY units on analysis and reporting metrics.
- Serve as liaison with other bureaus and units such as HR, IT, and Operations on administrative-related issues.
- Perform related administrative and supervisory duties as necessary.
In addition to the Minimum Qualification Requirements, all candidates must possess the following:
- Bachelor’s degree.
Preferred Requirements/Skills:
- Minimum one (1) year of criminal justice, paralegal, and/or eDiscovery-related experience strongly preferred.
- Project management experience a plus.
- Proficiency in multiple languages a plus.
- Familiarity with the office and New York City and State courts a plus.
- Ability to supervise various levels of staff based on agency initiatives is key. Prior supervisory experience a plus.
- Superior organizational, time-management, and interpersonal skills are essential.
- Ability to interact with all levels of staff, law enforcement representatives, and outside visitors.
- High level of proficiency in the use of Excel to manage large amounts of data required.
- Ability to follow directions and apply proper policies, procedures, and guidelines.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat.
- Ability to quickly learn in-house applications.
- Ability to work with frequent interruptions and adapt to changes in workflow.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple short-term projects.
- Strong attention to detail and high concern for data accuracy.
- Dependable team player who works collaboratively and cooperatively with staff in a team-oriented environment.
- Resourcefulness, initiative, and good judgment essential.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Qualification Requirements
