THE SELECTED CANDIDATE WILL BE OFFERED A SALARY BETWEEN $67,983 - $81,228.

The Administration for Children’s Services (ACS) protects and promotes the safety and well-being of children and families through child welfare and juvenile justice services and community supports. ACS manages community-based supports and foster care services, and provides subsidized childcare vouchers. ACS child protection staff respond to allegations of child maltreatment. In juvenile justice, ACS oversees detention, placement, and programs for youth in the community.

The Office of the First Deputy Commissioner strives to implement agency goals and ensure the fulfillment of ACS' mission to create and uphold a collaborative, community-based, integrated approach to child and family safety, permanency, and well-being. The First Deputy Commissioner serves as the Commissioner's senior delegate and represents the Commissioner and the agency when necessary.

The ACS Office of Public-Private Partnerships works to secure private and public resources to support and strengthen ACS programs benefiting children and families citywide. We are the primary liaison for ACS with the philanthropic community and corporate donors and partners. On average, ACS is managing $10 to $15 million dollars annually via 20 to 30 grants and generates close to $5 to $10 million annually through in-kind contributions.

Reporting to the Executive Director of the Office of Public Private Partnerships (OPPP), the Assistant Director will join a dynamic team leading public-private partnership development and stewarding resource partnerships to advance the goals and objectives of the agency. The Assistant Director will support the scoping, building, and managing of private sector partnerships and grant-funded opportunities that support of children and families across New York City. The Assistant Director will support various ACS divisions with creative program development, management, and fundraising, while providing overall project management and administrative support to the Partnership team.

Specific duties include but are not limited to:

- Work across the agency, provide project planning, coordination, implementation support and monitoring of innovative pilot projects and approaches in support of NYC children and families
- Research and evaluate prospective grant and corporate partnership opportunities and develop prospective partnership approaches
- Contribute to grant proposal writing
- Make recommendations on policies and procedures to improve overall functions of the unit.
- Coordinate media opportunities in collaboration with the Division of External Affairs.
- Contract and agreement management including ensuring quality control and stewarding approvals
- Assist with relationship management of key foundation partners
- Take a lead role in relationship management with New Yorkers for Children, the non-profit partner to ACS, including tracking, monitoring and reconciling grant budgets, payments, and reporting timelines, while troubleshooting any issues
- Oversee requests and manage process of approving 'Letters of Support' requested by ACS vendors and partners
- Manage donor and grant information in the unit's CRM system
- Schedule and coordinate meetings with internal program teams and external partners as needed
- -Assist Public Private Partnerships Office with special events, donor communications, and special projects as needed
- Support the OPPP team and agency

Minimum Qualifications

1. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and two years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to the duties described above; or
2. High school graduation or equivalent and six years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to the duties as described above; or
3. Education and/or experience which is equivalent to "1" or "2" above. However, all candidates must have at least one year of experience as described in "1" above.

Residency Requirement

New York City residency is generally required within 90 days of appointment.
