JOB DESCRIPTION:

The NYPD - Medical Division seeks a Physician (MD or DO) with Board Certification in Psychiatry, in addition to training in General or Critical Care Medicine to assume the Full Time position of Assistant Chief Surgeon. The candidate would be expected to assist the Chief surgeon in all Departmental projects and supervise a cadre of physicians, psychologists, nurses and other healthcare workers in administering and fostering physical and behavioral health and well-being of uniformed police officers.

1 Lefrak City, Queens
HOURS/ SHIFT:
This is a full-time, managerial position. Tour is Monday - Friday 40 hours per week

The NYPD seeks a Physician (MD or DO) with Board Certification in Psychiatry and training in General or Critical Care Medicine. The candidate would be expected to assist the Chief Surgeon in all Departmental projects and supervise a cadre of physicians, psychologists, nurses and other healthcare workers in administering and fostering physical and behavioral health and well-being of uniformed police officers. The candidate should have excellent communication skills and interest in clinical research projects. Certification in Addiction Medicine and/or Military/Law Enforcement background, are a plus.
You must live in one of the city's five boroughs or Nassau, Suffolk, Rockland, Westchester, Putnam or Orange counties.
