Job Description
The Fire Department of the City of New York (FDNY) is the largest Fire Department in the United States and universally is recognized as the world's busiest and most highly skilled emergency response agency. The Department's main goal is to provide fire protection, emergency medical care, and other critical public safety services to residents and visitors in the five boroughs. The Fire Department, City of New York (FDNY), seeks a full-time Community Associate in the Bureau of Fleet Services. Reporting directly to the Deputy Director of Capital Purchasing, the successful candidate will:
Creating the monthly vehicle Preventative Maintenance Schedules for Ambulances and Support Vehicles
Scheduling all Geolocation Device installations and running all reports to fulfill requests pertaining to Geolocation
Create all documents and forms necessary for the purchase of all vehicles and ladder assemblies
Coordinate with oversight agencies to gather necessary levels of approval for vehicle purchases
Secure all funding for vehicle acquisition and equipment replacement
Maintain detailed records in order to create various reports
Under general supervision, with latitude for independent initiative and judgment,
performs responsible work in any phase of community programs; perform assigned tasks
to provide necessary and important community services; may supervise subordinate
personnel or act as a team leader; performs related work

Qualification Requirements
1. High school graduation or equivalent and three years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to duties described above; or
2. Education and/or experience which is equivalent to "1" above.
Strong Excel skills Knowledge of capital purchasing, eCMS, and basic vehicle terminology helpful
