THIS POSTION IS ONLY OPEN TO CANDIDATES WHO ARE PERMANENT (NOT PROVISIONAL) IN THE CIVIL SERVICE TITLE LISTED ABOVE.

The Administration for Children’s Services (ACS) protects and promotes the safety and well-being of children and families through child welfare and juvenile justice services and community supports. ACS manages community-based supports and foster care services and provides subsidized childcare vouchers. ACS child protection staff respond to allegations of child maltreatment. In juvenile justice, ACS oversees detention, placement, and programs for youth in the community.

ACS’ Division of Family Permanency Services (FPS) is responsible for ensuring high-quality services are provided to children in foster care by supporting provider agency staff with technical assistance and other services for children in foster care. FPS staff offer guidance to provider agencies on child welfare policies and procedures to improve service delivery and achieve safety, permanency, and well-being for children in foster care. The Division includes the Office of Provider Agency Collaboration and Engagement, Office of Strategic Program Support, Office of Older Youth Development Services, and the office of Youth Success Services.

Within FPS, the Adoption and KinGAP Support Services (AKSS)/Post Adoption Unit is dedicated to increasing permanency rates and reducing lengths of stay for children in foster care, as well as the provision of post adoption assistance. AKSS works cross-divisionally with related ACS programs to collaborate with stakeholders such as provider agency staff, adoptive youth, adoptive parents, and adoption attorneys to work towards achieving and sustaining permanency.

FPS is seeking an Adoption Recertification Liaison who will be responsible for supporting the daily operations and administrative functions of the Adoption Recertification Unit in efforts to address post adoption recertifications that were sent to parents by the Human Resources Administration and not returned to ACS.

The duties and responsibilities of the Adoption Recertification Liaison will include, but will not be limited to:

- Provide Recertification Unit with monthly recertification lists

- Review monthly reentry lists for correct payments, and goal changes in the family composition that may require follow up

- Coordinate special projects, and assist with adoption and post-adoption audits

- Oversee the Warehouse Inventory Tracking System, and scanning of correspondence and annual recertifications

- Refer cases/families to the appropriate areas for assistance

- Review multiple systems to locate/identify current whereabouts of parents and guardians
