NYC Department of Finance (DOF) is responsible for administering the tax revenue laws of the city fairly, efficiently, and transparently to instill public confidence and encourage compliance while providing exceptional customer service.
The Finance Information Technology (FIT) Division designs, builds, and supports all facets of DOF’s computer systems, including hardware, software, applications, infrastructure, telephone, and data security. FIT delivers and administers tax-related payment programs for the City of New York by providing the information technology solutions needed to achieve its mission of collecting revenue while ensuring an efficient and improved customer experience. FIT is also responsible for the systems and websites which enable citywide payments, land records, property assessment, parking adjudications, customer service, and the Sheriff’s public safety work.
FIT is currently seeking an Administrative Liaison for the Office of the Chief Information Officer (CIO) and Deputy Commissioner. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in assuring the smooth operation of a busy Division which employs more than 200 technologists. Under general direction with the ability to exercise independent initiative and judgment, the Division Administrative Liaison will perform difficult administrative work for the Division.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
-Provide executive level administrative support to the CIO/Deputy Commissioner.
-Assist with managing the CIO/Deputy Commissioner's comprehensive calendar.
-Assist with agency-wide employee engagement initiatives and programs for the division including training.
-Assist with the on-boarding process of new divisional staff, including coordinating their IT equipment, software, seat assignment, and communicating their first day logistics.
-Assist with the off boarding of divisional staff, interns and consultants.
-Coordinate updates to the division's intranet site/webpage, ensuring information is reviewed, and posted in a timely fashion.
-Perform data entry and maintain spreadsheets as requested; track and log data as needed.
-Perform complex tasks as well as meet deadlines and manage multiple priorities in a timely manner.
-Assist with the summer internship and mentor program needs for the division.
-Monitor and maintain the division’s office supply inventory/storage; order, prepare and receive supplies and materials for multiple locations.
-Serve as backup to the Administrative Operations Manager.
-Perform ad hoc assignments and special projects as needed.

PRINCIPAL ADMINISTRATIVE ASSOC - 10124
1. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and three years of satisfactory full-time progressively responsible clerical/administrative experience, one year of which must have been in an administrative capacity or supervising staff performing clerical/administrative work of more than moderate difficulty; or
2. An associate degree or 60 semester credits from an accredited college and four years of satisfactory full-time progressively responsible clerical/administrative experience including one year of the administrative supervisory experience described in "1" above; or
3. A four-year high school diploma or its educational equivalent approved by a State's department of education or a recognized accrediting organization and five years of satisfactory full-time progressively responsible clerical/administrative experience including one year of the administrative supervisory experience as described in "1" above;
4. Education and/or experience equivalent to "1", "2", or "3" above. However, all candidates must possess the one year of administrative or supervisory experience as described in "1" above. Education above the high school level may be substituted for the general clerical/administrative experience (but not for the one year of administrative or supervisory experience described in "1" above) at a rate of 30 semester credits from an accredited college for 6 months of experience up to a maximum of 3½ years.
-Exceptional communication, organization, and computer skills. -Demonstrated ability to handle confidential matters with the utmost professional discretion. -Experience in independently and effectively managing multiple responsibilities. -Knowledge of NYC civil service rules for hiring. -Familiarity with IT terminology and willingness to learn emerging areas. -Successful office management experience is a plus. -Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite experience including Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Teams, and Visio.
