The Bureau of Mental Health’s (BMH) mission is to improve mental health and wellness for people in New York City, and to eliminate racial and other long-standing societal disparities by providing services, resources, and opportunities to New Yorkers that are grounded in accurate, data driven information that foster community participation, thus reducing the stigma around mental health. This includes procuring and monitoring more than 500 contracted programs that provide mental health treatment, psychiatric rehabilitation, supportive housing, care coordination and crisis intervention services, and operating court- mandated Assisted Outpatient Treatment (AOT), Single Point of Access (SPOA) for mobile treatment and care coordination, and the NYC Supportive Treatment and Recovery Team (NYCSTART) for people with first episode psychosis.
Duties will include but not limited to:
Analysis and projections for new developments
Provide Technical assistance for providers on use TMS.
Analysis of TMS trends.
Review of KPI data.
Coordination with ORE on TMS.
Manage LL15 Tenant notice of rights mailbox.
Provide general administrative support to Office of Housing Services.
Serve as back-up administrative support for additional Bureau Offices.
Direct and track requests from the public.
Maintain and update all tracking spreadsheets.
Complete other administrative duties or tasks as assigned on an as-needed basis.
1. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and four years of satisfactory, full-time progressively responsible clerical/administrative experience requiring independent decision-making concerning program management or planning, allocation for resources and the scheduling and assignment of work, 18 months of which must have been in an administrative, managerial, executive or supervisory capacity. The supervisory work must have been in the supervision of staff performing clerical/administrative work of more than moderate difficulty; or
2. An associate degree or 60 semester credits from an accredited college and five years of satisfactory, full-time progressively responsible experience as described in "1" above, 18 months of which must have been in an administrative, managerial, executive or supervisory capacity. The supervisory work must have been in the supervision of staff performing clerical/administrative work of more than moderate difficulty; or
3. A four-year high school diploma or its educational equivalent and six years of
satisfactory, full-time progressively responsible experience as described in "1"
above, 18 months of which must have been in an administrative, managerial,
executive or supervisory capacity. The supervisory work must have been in the
supervision of staff performing clerical/administrative work of more than
moderate difficulty; or
4. Education and/or experience equivalent to "1", "2" or "3" above. However, all
candidates must possess the 18 months of administrative, managerial, executive or supervisory experience as described in "1", "2" or "3" above. Education above
the high school level may be substituted for the general clerical/administrative
experience (but not for the administrative, managerial, executive or supervisory
experience described in "1", "2" or "3" above) at a rate of 30 semester credits
from an accredited college for 6 months of experience up to a maximum of 3½
years.
Ability to use Microsoft Windows software (Word, Excel, Visio, Access, and PowerPoint) knowledge of community mental health resources cursory knowledge of mental health terminology and diagnosis good interpersonal and communication skills ability to interface with service providers from all sectors of the service system and strong organizational skills.
