The NYC Department of Design and Construction, Safety & Site Support Division seeks a Junior CADD Technician. Under the direct supervision of the Chief of CADD, the Junior CADD Technician will be responsible for producing various Land Survey Map deliverables for DDC capital construction projects including Topographical/Property Line, Highway/Sewer Plan and Profile maps using AutoCAD and Carlson or Civil 3D applications. The Junior CADD Technician will also maintain CADD standards and templates across all deliverables, assist with basic survey calculations, review all completed maps for accuracy, completeness, and coordinate with field unit when clarification is needed.

Minimum Qualifications

1. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university in engineering, engineering technology, architecture, landscape architecture, architectural technology, construction, construction management, construction technology, sustainable design, urban planning, urban studies, city planning, transportation planning, business administration, or public administration; or
2. A master’s degree in architecture that is the first professional degree in architecture from an accredited college or university.

Preferred Skills

Candidates should be proficient in various aspects of CADD and have the ability to read and understand as built and/or record information from various utility sources. Strong analytical, verbal, written, multitasking, computer skills, attention to detail and ability to follow established drafting standards are preferred. Working knowledge of Civil 3D is a plus.
