The NYC Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) enriches the environment and protects public health for all New Yorkers by providing 1.1 billion gallons of high-quality drinking water, managing wastewater and stormwater, and reducing air, noise, and hazardous materials pollution. DEP is the largest combined municipal water and wastewater utility in the country, with nearly 6,000 employees. DEP's water supply system is comprised of 19 reservoirs and 3 controlled lakes throughout the system’s 2,000 square mile watershed that extends 125 miles north and west of the City.

The Agency Chief Contracting Office (ACCO) is responsible for directing and managing all agency procurement and vendor payment activity. The ACCO's Office works cooperatively with DEP’s operational and support bureaus to manage the procurement and payment processes to support their programs and operations requiring capital construction projects, supplies, and various services. The ACCO also coordinates with the Mayor’s Office of Contract Services (MOCS), the Comptroller’s Office, the Office of Management and Budget and other agencies.
The intern will work under minimal supervision and latitude for independent judgment. The selected candidate will be expected to:

- Review and verify contract and procurement milestones
- Perform quality audits and functions to ensure quality standards, procedures and methodologies are being followed
- Complete other Quality Assurance tasks as assigned
- Participate as a manual tester on projects as needed which include validating Quality Assurance builds and defects
–Support the business users during Users Acceptance Training (“UAT”) and manage issues during implementation
- Document all problems and assist in their resolution.

Minimum Qualifications

Candidates must be currently enrolled in a graduate degree program in an accredited college, university or law school.


Preferred Skills

-Student must be currently enrolled at a college/university at the graduate level majoring in a technology-based field -Student must have at least a 2.5GPA (on a 4.0 scale) Selection Criteria: -Capable of tracking action items and as well as organizing materials while displaying strong analytical skills -Possess strong software skills, including competency in Microsoft Office Suite, Excel spreadsheets and Power Point -Display strong communication skills, both written and oral -Leadership skills, self-motivated and ability to work well with minimal supervision
