The Teachers’ Retirement System of the City of New York (TRS) is a public pension fund that provides New York City educators with retirement, disability, and death benefits. We are seeking an organized, and ambitious .NET developer to join our team. As a .Net Developer you will be involved in design, development, coding, customization, configuration, testing and deployment of TRS Pension Application using .NET's infrastructure and Sagitec Neospin Framework. As a team member, you will be involved in development and maintenance of TRS Pension System and ensure that deliverables are error-free. A commitment to collaborative problem solving and delivering a quality product is essential.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Utilizing Microsoft's .NET infrastructure and Sagitec Neospin framework to develop, test and deploy enhancements to existing systems while working with key stakeholders and other team members using agile software methodologies
- Individual Contribution to hands-on development work along with associated design and analysis efforts
- Provide Technical application support and maintain enterprise level application
- Diagnose and resolve technical issues, provide technical support, and maintain enterprise level application
- Collaborating with coworkers to facilitate the creation of large, complex developments, as required
- Reformulating existing code to ensure adherence to stipulated guidelines.
- Checking your code to detect and remedy errors and omissions
- Testing your outputs to ensure that they are in excellent working order
- Perform code reviews to ensure that coding standards are met
- Support the organization during QA and UA Testing to ensure solutions meet the business requirements and help determine the most appropriate actions to address problems identified through project testing or other assessment efforts
- Remaining abreast of coding and technological changes that will impact your work.

1. A baccalaureate degree, from an accredited college including or supplemented by twenty-four (24) semester credits in cyber security, network security, computer science, computer programming, computer engineering, information technology, information science, information systems management, network administration, or a pertinent scientific, technical or related area; or
2. A four-year high school diploma or its equivalent approved by a State’s department of education or a recognized accrediting organization and three years of satisfactory experience in any of the areas described in “1” above; or
3. Education and/or experience equivalent to “1” or “2”, above. College education may be substituted for up to two years of the required experience in “2” above on the basis that sixty (60) semester credits from an accredited college is equated to one year of experience. In addition, twenty-four (24) credits from an accredited college or graduate school in cyber security, network security, computer science, computer programming, computer engineering, information technology, information science, information systems management, network administration, or a pertinent scientific, technical or related area; or a certificate of at least 625 hours in computer programming from an accredited technical school (post high school), may be substituted for one year of experience.
What You Need To Succeed: - Drive and eagerness to learn willingness to build technical proficiency in the following: o Object-oriented development techniques o Writing SQL queries and optimizing queries o Concurrent development source control (Git) and continuous integration (Azure) o Application development with Sagitec Neospin Framework including Sagitec S3 Tool o Analyzing, developing, troubleshooting, testing, and deploying software solutions - Preferred exposure to HTML, CSS, JavaScript - Preferred exposure to SSIS tool - Ability to work in a team environment and collaborate with others - Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and perform duties without direct supervision - Strong communication - Excellent time management with the ability to prioritize and coordinate multiple tasks to ensure project deadlines are met - Attention to detail, curiosity, and willingness to learn
